I am a 56 year old man. I was born in Soviet Union, to Jewish parents. Our grandmother would bring matzah every Pesach from some secret place, ask her son (my father) to build a sukkah when the time came, light Chanukah candles, and bake cookies (with our mom) for Purim.
I left Soviet Union the first chance I had - when I was 29 - and made aliyah to Israel. I was happy to leave USSR because I was persecuted by KGB for speaking up against the Communist regime.
I went to Israel and stayed on a kibbutz for six months, and spent one year in yeshiva (in Maale Adumim). Then I worked as security guard at Yad Vashem and briefly served in the army.
My parents, brothers and relatives came to Israel after me within couple of years and still live there.
I started a project "Jewish Songs To All" and organized a translation of most popular Yiddish songs to Russian. Now, my first album is being produced. I listed the demo versions on www.rigli.com.
